Let’s forget the world for a while
fall back and back
into the hush and holy
are you listening? This breath
to write the first word
of your new story
your new story begins with this:
you are needed—empty
willing to say yes
and yes and yes
Do you see
the sun shines, day after day
whether you have faith
the sparrows continue
to sing their song
even when you forget to sing
stop asking: Am I good enough?
Am I showing up
Life is not a straight line
It’s a downpour of gifts, please—
hold out your hand

With these beautiful words, my intention is to share how I create my space every time I go into paint. As I learn about myself and my art, I gain new insights and grow so change takes place. Please Join In and share your thoughts too. We are a community of Creatives, each finding our way when there is no "right way". May we help one another along this journey.
Here is a beautiful link by Nicholas Wilton describing fairly accurately how I got started making Art, entitled Beginning When you Can't See the End. Maybe it resonates with you, too.
I have a dedicated art practice, place to do my painting, stocked supplies, tools I like, ready to begin today. How do I show up?
I welcome the day. I am grateful and happy to be alive today. I step outside and breathe in the fresh air of this new day full of all possibilities. Today the sun is shining and I stretch and feel my body and delight in the sights and sounds around me. All is good.
Today is a great day for some gentle music so I find what I like on Pandora. Ahhh yes, piano music is perfect.
What inspires me today? What is my intention today? What am I excited about? These thoughts and feelings arise as I step into my studio.
What inspires me today is curiosity? I am working on a group of small paintings and I am curious what they have to say to me today? Where do they want to lead me? I am open.
My intention is to dialogue and be lead and to explore with a lightness of being. And, I want to see several panels go to a new level of completeness. I work intuitively and trust.
I am excited to mix the colors, even start a new panel or two. I delight and play.
While there may even be a sense of excited urgency, I do not rush, but I work mindfully, keeping as much of my heart, mind, body open to receive and express.
Today, I am ready to fall back into the hush and holy of now .
